HIGH QUALITY, COST-EFFECTIVE SANITARY SEWER SERVICES
The Huntington Sanitary Board (HSB) owns, maintains, and services an area of approximately 13,300 acres, with an estimated 340 miles of sanitary and combined collection and trunk sewers ranging in size from 6 inches to 72 inches in diameter, many of which are more than 100 years old. In addition to the collection lines to the HSB has 44 sewage pumping stations, 131 individual grinder pump stations, and a wastewater treatment plant with an average flow of 13 million gallons a day. These facilities collect, convey and treat wastewater from the City of Huntington, and five Public Service Districts, surrounding the city, making the Sanitary Board responsible for the largest wastewater collection and treatment systems in the state. We currently serve approximately 27,730 customers, including approximately 500 customers from Spring Valley PSD; 2200 customers from Northern Wayne PSD; 100 customers from the Ohio River area; 900 customers from the City of Ceredo; and 1600 customers from the City of Kenova.
